Travelling on top of the bus

We reached Hosagadde, the end point of our two day trekking. Last thing we wanted is to see the last bus with no seats! But alas, it was almost filled, and we decided to travel on the bus top.

It was a welcome break to sit on the top. Savoring the beautiful view. Ducking now and then to avoid the tree branches. It was fun!

  1. Cool! Sure is a nice way to travel and see the sights. I’ve done it myself a couple of times. Not on a public bus, but on top of a private bus booked just for our use.

  2. It is one of my dreams to travel like this.

You are expert in making me envy of you guys.

  3. Prashanth, I can identify our Kolar Back bencher by his forehead, which is just visible in the foreground!

And he told me you forgot to take your cameras when you went to watch the peacocks! That’s sad…. 🙁

  4. Thanks Shilpa

    Cuckoo, can’t help it 🙂

Yes VAni, thats Srik in the front, with just forehead visible

Rajesh, thanks. But tied up with lots of work at office. Trek log will have to wait 🙁

Rcon, its not legal to travel on bus top in India. But one can travel like that in rural areas like we did. And yes they do allow girls 🙂

  5. thanks! but i think my family and friends won’t allow me to do it even if we’re already driving along the rural areas. That’s why it’s always better to travel alone, no boring rules! yey!

  6. prashanth for you it is fun for rural people it is a routine because if they miss the bus staying back in town will cost them more. it is thier fate accomplie.
    nice trip report and photos

  7. Loved the picture. I have done it too way back when I was an undergrad student but alas, I have no pictures of it. But I know very well about avoiding the branches 🙂
