I Was Here: Irpu Falls

My first visit to Irpu Falls was in October 2007, during a two-day bike ride in Coorg. I was there again this April. There were quite considerable changes between these two visits – prominent being the amount of water. My first visit was just after the monsoon & the latest being in the middle of summer.

One other major change was the man-made metal ramp below the falls. So that people can walk right under the falls & enjoy the water. That means more people visiting the place, more litter and complete loss of tranquility.

First visit to Irpu falls was on motorbike and second in a four wheeler. Hope to visit the place next time on my bicycle :)

I Was Here: Manchanabele

I visited Manchanabele/Manchinabele first way back in Nov 2006. With a day to spare today, I thought of visiting the place again. It was all good till few kilometers before the the water reservoir. Then the road repair work made me take diversions. After 2-3 diversions, I was lost! To add to that the car’s wheel got stuck in sand in a narrow lane with no one in the vicinity to ask for any help. It took almost 40 minutes to get back to the track. End result, I missed the road & came back home with dirty cloths & car completely covered with multiple layers of dust.

A wonderful adventure to beat Monday blues, I say! :)

I paid a short visit to the Hoysala temples of Belur during my long ride to west coast almost two years ago. Couple of hours spent there is no where sufficient to get to know a bit about place. That short visit two years ago pricking me to plan for another trip.
